SMARTwayToLearn has more than tips and tricks to make learning fun and easy! It is also not a "New way to Teach or Learn." The Skill and Drill programs supplement the multi-subject Projects where students can apply their knowledge in useful applications. It is a complete and comprehensive curriculum that is developing a Uniform Interface for all programs without the distracting graphics and hard to find navigation buttons, so common in educational programs. Learning is the reward. The focus is on pride of accomplishment, that leads to fun hands on projects when skills are mastered! There is a common database of successfully mastered learning objectives, and review is built into the curriculum. Vocabulary, grammar,spelling words as well as math facts are personalized for each student. Below is the starting point of articles and programs available when SMARTway launches. Reading, Writing and Language Arts - k-3 grade Audio practice on sounds and letters (phonemes and graphemes) of English. As soon as possible...the Audio Assistant permits students to read to learn while they learn to read... time on academic content and great children's litterature is emphasized
- 3-8 grade Audio Fluency Program for Literature and Academic Content Areas...timed articles with vocabulary words and comprehension questions that permit students to measure and see their improvement in fluency, comprehension and accuracy in decoding difficult words!.
- k-8 grade Language Arts Program for Vocabulary, Spelling and Grammar practice, include syllabification of words to make them easy to read and spell, links to Spanish or other languages for cognates
- k-8 grade Writing Framework teaches Transitions, Introductions, Conclusions and Word Selection, to reinforce the grammar, spelling, and content learned in reading lessons.
- 3-8 grade focus on e-letter writing to accomplish goals and to make friends
- Also recommended at very young age is second language acquisition
Mathematics
- k-8 grade Skills and Drills in numbers and operations with graphs and numberlines to show visual pictures of how numbers work.
